Having graduated as an Electrical Engineer from University College Cork in 1997, Eoghan began his career designing integrated circuits with one of Ireland’s most successful R&D teams in 3Com Corporation. In 2005, Eoghan began working with one of Ireland’s leading entrepreneurs, Declan Ryan (part of the founding team of Ryanair “Europe’s largest airline”), in Ryan’s 10-year limited-life venture philanthropy fund, The One Foundation. Over the lifetime of the fund as Director of Investment, Eoghan worked with over 25 Irish and Vietnamese non-profit companies, leading in over 25 multi-million euro investments and working with senior management teams to improve company effectiveness to deliver significant social impact.

In late 2013, Eoghan joined Dublin City University’s Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurs as Chief Commercial Officer and became Chief Executive in January 2015. The DCU Ryan Academy believes that a great idea will only become a success with the right support. The Academy has been working with entrepreneurs and startups for over ten years, supporting ambition with tools, guidance and information, helping entrepreneurs map their journey from great idea to profitable and scaleable business.

Eoghan serves on the Board of StartUp Ireland, is part of the Management Group of Dublin’s Commissioner for StartUps, is Deputy Chair of the Board of Philanthropy Ireland and also serves on the Boards of several other non-profit organisations.
